Supervises and coordinates all quality controls and processes. Maintains inventory and tracking of materials. Maintains quality equipment and tools. Leads or assists, as designated, the activities and documentation tracking for all quality related activities. Communicates with the internal production and management group about quality.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Two-year (Associate’s) Degree or comparable technical school certification plus 3+ years of related experience and training, or a combination of education, training, and experience in a related operation.
AWS, CWI certification and/or equivalent of 2 years related experience/training, Level I UT certification, or equivalent 2 years’ experience/training.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 3+ years of experience in a related operation or comparable industrial role. A plus to have comprehension of API product requirements. A PLUS to have worked in an OCTG production environment.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational management skills.
Self-managing, well-organized and structured work style.
Ability to operate relevant MS Office computer applications.
A “problem-solving personality”.
Pluses: Six sigma, lean manufacturing, metallurgy, rolling mill, engineering
Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for a long period of time; bend, stoop, climb steps or stairs, and move around work area.
Must have the ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, such as
• NDE Level I limited, Lab Technician and Final Inspector
• Weigh, Measure, Stencil Technician and Flattening Technician Visual Activity
• Capable of distinguishing and differentiating contrast between colors.
• Capable of reading a minimum of Jaeger 2 or equivalent type and size letter at a distance of not less than 12 feet on a standard Jaeger test chart.
Starting pay is negotiable with knowledge/experience) $25-$30HR
6AM-4:30PM M-TH with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Must be able to work OT, as needed.
