Industrial Electrician
*Installs and repairs, under general supervision, electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Is a key maintenance member contributing to the overall efficiency and sustainability of the operation by maintaining and enhancing electrical systems.
Electrical Installation, Repair, and Maintenance
? Operate and observe all equipment that utilizes electrical controls or power for troubleshooting purposes.
? Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
? Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
? Diagnoses malfunctions apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
? Tests malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with Production Supervisors or Maintenance Supervisor and Mechanical Maintenance, to diagnose malfunction.
? Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices.
? Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
? Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
? Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
? Basic housekeeping in general work area(s).
? Perform any and all other operational requirements for safe and efficient use including any lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and mass; and interpret bar graphs.
- Aptitude to calculate and use the following instruments – Scale in 1/8”, 1/16”, 1/32” and 1/64” increments – 12” to 72” long; Protractor Head, Diameter Tape – 100’s increments, Micrometers, Diameter Tape – 1/64” increments, 6” Vernier Caliper, 50’ Tapes, Ring Gauges, Squares, Levels, Line Levels, Various Tape Measures, Conversion Charts (Decimal to Fraction, Fraction to Decimal), Tri-Square, String Line, Feeler Gauges, Overhead Scale, Dial Indicators, Calipers
