Summary: Drives gasoline or diesel-powered stake bed or van trucks to transport and deliver heating and air conditioning products, parts, and other materials to customers and stocks, receives and maintains a neat and organized warehouse. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Meets all DOT requirements relative to drivers. If applicable, (e.g., medical examinations, drug testing, commercial driver's license, endorsements, etc.) Carefully and responsibly drives truck to deliver items to customer's job site or place of business, other Insco locations, or other assigned destinations. Inspects vehicle for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. Performs required minor maintenance and keeps inside and outside of vehicle clean. Obtain customer or receiving locations signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Logs any maintenance performed and all gas tickets and submit those to the corporate office weekly. Load and unload vehicle at branches, customer’s locations or job sites. When not driving, assists with operations at Branch or D.C. such as stocking, cycle counts, pulling orders, shipping, and receiving, using scanner gun and computer inventory system. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and Driver certificate from driver training school; or one to two years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer at least two years of previous driver experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read and speak English. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), insurable by automobile insurance carrier; Hazardous Material endorsement on license and D.O.T. medical examiners card.
