A large organization in New Orleans is seeking a Human Resources Assistant.

 

Pay will be $18-$19 per hour and full array of benefits will be offered. Hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm M-Th and 8:00am-2:30pm on Friday.

Some overtime as needed will be required.

Duties of the Human Resources Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Update HRIS database records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes.

  • Ensure all new hire documentation is completed to established standards and work with hiring managers to clear any discrepancies.

  • Ensure all pre-employment testing/screening and verifications are completed.

  • Process all data sheets and change of status for all employees and forward to Payroll by established timeline.

  • Review and ensure I-9s are accurately completed. Monitor and process I-9 re-verification requests.

  • Maintain Drug Testing/Criminal Background Log.

  • Process all Government verifications (E-Verify) as required.

  • Forward all completed paperwork to the HR Data Specialist.

  • Secure MVR reports for individuals identified as drivers of company vehicles.

  • Enter employment separations into State of Louisiana website for unemployment purposes, respond to unemployment claims and coordinate unemployment hearings with HR Manager.

  • Respond to employment verifications.

Requirements of the Human Resources Assistant:

  • 2+ years working in a Human Resources Department¬†preferably in an assistant capacity

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products

  • Experience working in a Human Resource Information System (HRIS)

  • Must have excellent data entry skills

  • Quick learner and computer savvy
