Director of Human Resources -
The HR Director effectively plans, designs, develops and evaluates human resource-related initiatives that support organizational strategic goals. Duties may include policies and guideline development, total rewards oversight, database management procedures, employee records and documentation policies. This role also ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and provides advisement on legal implications of HR issues related to discipline and employee grievances.
Essential Job Duties
· Possesses understanding of the company’s culture, operations, and goals in order to develop HR processes and systems that compliment and support business goals
· Builds strong professional relationships and lines of communication across the organization in order to facilitate collaboration and partnership around HR services
· Develops appropriate policies and programs for the organization. Included in this area would be programs for employee relations, sexual harassment, employee complaints, total rewards, career development and succession planning, among others.
· Leads HR’s compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, workers' compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
· Develops and maintains human resources systems that meet top management information needs
· Develops and enhances HR reporting capabilities. Provide reports as needed and partners with the HR team to determine service delivery and performance metrics
· Establishes and executes the automation process for HR functions to include self-service portals for both employees and managers; ensure all users receive appropriate training on automated HR tools
· Participates in HR activities related to acquisitions to drive integration success, minimize execution risks, and drive efficiencies
· Oversees core HR functions such as benefits, compensation, leaves, workers’ compensation, compliance, employee relations, and onboarding
· Manages all employees of the HR department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department
· Manages the budget and other financial measures of the HR department
· Writes and delivers presentations to management regarding human resources policies and practices
Qualifications/Requirements
Experience
· At least 7 years of increasing responsibility in an HR function
Strategic mindset with in-depth knowledge of how the HR function enables the business
Experience in multiple HR disciplines including: talent management, organizational development and effectiveness, compensation practices, employee engagement, and performance management
Ability to navigate and drive change
Strong business acumen with proven ability to envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex, business issues
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results, with a wide variety of employees from field environment to corporate setting
Strong critical thinking skills to challenge multiple perspectives with objectivity and logic

Education
· Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s in Human Resources related field preferred
· SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SHRM-CP preferred
