Payroll Coordinator / Specialist - Fulltime

This role requires calculating employees' wages, timecard reviews, PTO payouts, validating W-2s, and other payroll responsibilities. The payroll coordinator supports the needs of our employees through a highly customer focused approach to payroll along with strong organizational and administrative skills.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Administers the time and attendance system, including training and instructing department personnel in system/software use.
Reviews all time and attendance records for completeness; ensures all hours are accounted for prior to payroll processing.
Works collaboratively with department heads to ensure all time is properly/accurately recorded.
Determines entitlements to holiday pay based on personnel shifts/scheduling; determines entitlements to
overtime according to policy and procedure; determines any non-pay time.
Processes Sick Leave Incentive payout on annual basis for 10 month and 12-month employees.
Computes and enters shift differential charges and retroactive pay increases.
Tracks levies per instructions for IRS, child support and loan defaults.
Tests and implements upgrades for time and attendance and payroll computer systems.
Reviews W-2’s; direct deposit actions, and other payroll documentation as authorized on PCNs.
Produces payroll reports and deduction registers; maintains payroll files.
Prepares and posts Payroll Journal Entries.
Prepare and reports payments of the employers and employee’s Retirement biweekly.
Prepares and report payment of FRS pension monthly to FRS online.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform
other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
