3D Drafting Designer
Are you a skilled 3D Drafting Designer who loves turning complex engineering concepts into precise, buildable designs?
This is your chance to play a key role in designing CO2 liquefaction and LNG processing plants—projects that directly support the transition to cleaner, more efficient energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and produce comprehensive plant layout drawings for LCO2 and LNG facilities.
-
Create detailed 3D equipment models, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and rotating machinery.
-
Develop 3D piping models for process and utility systems such as CO2, NH3, water, oil, glycol, amine, refrigerants, nitrogen, and air—using in-house piping specifications based on ASME B31.1, B31.3, and B16.5 codes.
-
Produce structural steel 3D models for supporting skidded and fixed equipment.
-
Prepare equipment, structural, and piping detail drawings, including general arrangement (GA) and foundation details for fabrication and field installation.
-
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and piping isometric drawings for shop and site use.
-
Lead model review meetings with internal teams and external clients, document meeting minutes, and track action items.
-
Monitor progress against project schedules and provide weekly status updates.
-
Review and coordinate vendor drawings and in-house redlines to ensure compliance with project standards and design intent.
-
Collaborate closely with piping engineers and other disciplines to resolve design issues, non-conformances, and change orders efficiently.
-
Verify that delivered vendor equipment matches the issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings and aligns with the 3D model and construction documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D (AP3D) – 3D modeling experience is required.
-
Experience using Autodesk Advance Steel is required.
-
Associate degree in Drafting & Design preferred; equivalent experience (3+ years) accepted.
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant drafting/design experience strongly preferred.
-
Familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D Spec Editor and P&ID program is a plus.
-
Experience in cryogenic systems and gas process plants is highly desirable.
-
Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) is essential.
