Job Description

General Purpose of the Position
The general purpose of the Account Manager position is to support the Sales team and serve as the daily point of communication between the customer and the company’s manufacturing and production processes.


Major Work Functions and Desired Outcomes

  1. Sales & Management Support
    Handle day-to-day customer communications, including but not limited to requests and scheduling. This support allows the sales and management team to focus on new business development, customer satisfaction, and marketing strategy.

  2. RFQ Management
    Establish and maintain a quoting schedule, distribute new RFQs to the Estimating team, and serve as a communication conduit between the customer and the Estimating team. This includes relaying technical questions and clarifications.

  3. Quote Generation
    Compile data received from the Estimating team into a complete JobBoss quote and send it electronically to the customer.

  4. Quote Tracking
    Track and update the status of quotes in JobBoss. Follow up with the customer one week prior to the quote’s expiration date.

  5. Sales Order Generation
    Process customer purchase orders by reconciling them with quotes, identifying and communicating discrepancies, coordinating production-related needs, and generating the corresponding sales order.

  6. Customer Support
    Act as the first point of contact for customers and the field. Respond to and appropriately route inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

  7. Marketing Support
    Assist with marketing functions such as tradeshow preparation, event planning, and implementation of initiatives aimed at building the company’s brand and internal culture.


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer-facing roles

  • Type minimum 50WPM

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service excellence

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Skilled in organizing and managing digital documentation and filing systems

  • Ability to learn and effectively use MRP/ERP software, preferably JobBoss

  • Strong attention to detail

  • High level of professionalism

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding customer and company information

  • Must be willing to put on safety glasses and go out into the shop to get answers if need be.
