Position Objective:

 

The X-ray Technician is a clinical and technical role and is responsible for operating X-ray equipment to capture images of a patient’s internal structures for diagnostic purposes. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for X-ray procedures by explaining the process, answering their questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Position patients properly and adjust X-ray equipment to obtain clear and accurate images
  • Follow established protocols and safety guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, team members, and yourself
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate X-ray technique and position for each patient's specific needs
  • Develop X-Ray films or use digital imaging technology to capture diagnostic images 
  • Review and analyze X-ray images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic value, ensuring they meet the necessary standards
  • Accurately record patient information, examination details, and findings in the medical records system
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the X-ray room and equipment
  • Continuously stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in X-Ray Imaging

Position Requirements/ Skills:

  • Associate degree or certification in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Valid state licensure or certification as an X-ray technician 
  • Knowledge of X-ray equipment operation, safety protocols, and radiation protection
  • Strong technical skills to properly position patients and obtain clear images
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment
  • Understanding of patient care principles and commitment to providing 5-Star quality care 
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration
