Procedure Coordinator
Broken Arrow, OK | $18/hour and up DOE | Full-Time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm | Temp to hire
Job duties:
- Schedule medical procedures for physicians, coordinating with patients to confirm dates, times, and locations.
- Ensure that all necessary pre-procedure instructions and information are communicated effectively to patients.
- Collaborate with billing staff to ensure all required prior authorizations are completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor authorization statuses and resolve any issues promptly to avoid delays.
- Follow up with patients to confirm scheduled procedures and address any concerns or rescheduling needs.
- Contact patients who miss appointments to reschedule promptly and document follow-up efforts.
- Coordinate all aspects of procedure scheduling, from initial patient inquiry to post-procedure follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduled procedures, cancellations, and reschedules, ensuring compliance with office policies.
- Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure all procedural requirements are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their procedures, providing compassionate and clear guidance.
- Update and maintain scheduling software and patient records with detailed and accurate information.
- Generate and review reports related to scheduled procedures, no-shows, and completed appointments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience in medical office administration or procedure coordination is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and prior authorization processes.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor.
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Procedure Scheduling: 1 year (Preferred)
