Job Title: Industrial I&E Technician III
Location: Tulsa, OK
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Thursday)
Pay: $23/hr
Position Summary:
The Industrial I&E Technician III is responsible for assembling, installing, and testing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. This role involves connecting wires to circuit breakers, junction boxes, and other components, as well as testing electrical systems and circuit continuity. The technician will also determine the placement and connections of instrumentation and tubing, custom bend and install stainless tubing, and assist with functional testing as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per customer specifications.
• Direct and mentor Level I and II technicians during electrical installation tasks.
• Read and follow blueprints, or prepare “as-built” drawings to determine electrical installation requirements.
• Install and run conduit in designated areas and pull wiring to complete circuits.
• Mount control panels and electrical boxes.
• Identify and install instruments based on drawings.
• Determine and execute proper tubing routing and connections.
• Install tube trays, fabricate mounting brackets, and fit instruments, actuators, and control valves.
• Install needle valves, transmitters, and indicators; take measurements for tube installations.
• Custom bend tubing and install with swage fittings.
• Build and test gas columns.
• Provide instruction and guidance to junior technicians as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Solid working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic controls including transmitters, valve actuators, solenoids, and control valves.
• Ability to interpret and troubleshoot from electrical drawings and prints.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal departments and third-party inspectors.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues related to vendor-supplied items, prints, or missing components.
• Competence in decision-making related to tube routing and instrument positioning.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical work.
• Experience in custom instrumentation fabrication preferred (on-the-job training provided).
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift and transfer materials (e.g., Adalet boxes) weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Regular use of tools and handling of parts requiring up to 45 lbs. of force.
• Ability to climb ladders to access elevated work areas.
• Prolonged periods of standing—up to 2 hours continuously and up to 9 hours per 10-hour shift.
• Visual acuity required for safe operation of machinery and reading safety signage.
• Frequent walking across the facility to reach various work areas.
