JOB SUMMARY

The Dental Director is a key leadership position responsible for the overall clinical and administrative management of the dental department. This role involves providing direct patient care, supervising dental staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the development and implementation of dental programs that meet the unique needs of our patient population. The Dental Director will play a crucial role in expanding access to high-quality dental care within our community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides comprehensive dental care to patients, including but not limited to:

  • Dental exams, limited and complete
  • Restorative dentistry (fillings and crowns)
  • Endodontics (root canals)
  • Prosthodontics (dentures and partials)
  • Oral Surgery
  • Develop and implement evidence-based dental treatment protocols.
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality, patient centered care.
  • Manage and address patients’ complaints and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor dental staff, including dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative personnel.
  • Develop and manage the dental department budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including HRSA guidelines.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of dental staff.
  • Manage dental equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated care.
  • Participate in strategic planning and program development.
  • Represent the dental department in community outreach and education activities. Collaborate with community partners to address oral health disparities.
  • Advocate for the oral health needs of underserved populations.
  • Job Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Valid dental licensure in Oklahoma
  • Board certification or eligibility preferred.
  • experience required, preferably in a community health or FQHC setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of dental practice management and quality improvement principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with electronic health records
  • Experience with Dentrix is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
