Department: Operations/Revenue Cycle Management
Reports to: Director of Reimbursement
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay range: $62K-$87K
Summary:
The Collections Manager oversees AR Follow-up and Cash Posting processes, ensuring accurate, timely collections and reduced AR aging. This role requires strong leadership, analytical ability, and collaboration across teams to optimize reimbursement and improve cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee AR Follow-up and Cash Posting operations.
Analyze AR trends and resolve procedural/system issues.
Lead, mentor, and train AR/Cash Posting staff.
Utilize automation and technology to improve workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing/AR issues.
Develop strategies to improve collections and reduce outstanding balances.
Monitor AR Aging reports and address denials/underpayments.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of ERAs and EOBs.
Reconcile posted payments with bank deposits and resolve discrepancies.
Generate and analyze performance metrics, implementing improvements.
Participate in monthly Revenue Cycle reviews to address denial trends.
Maintain a “working manager” approach to daily operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
7+ years’ healthcare experience (Behavioral Health preferred).
Strong background in AR Follow-up and Cash Posting.
Supervisory/leadership experience required.
Experience with EHR billing systems.
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of government/commercial insurance procedures.
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to quality customer service.
Other Information:
Classified as a safety-sensitive position subject to drug/alcohol testing (including marijuana, regardless of medical license).
