PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR 

DAY SHIFT 

$85k-$95k

Heavy MFG/FABRICATION experience. Experience with Tig, Mig, Flux core and blueprint reading. Piping or pressure vessel experience would be nice as well. I know we may not find anyone with everything, but the Heavy MFG and welding background is critical.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting or exceeding scheduled labor hours for respective tasks assigned in their respective areas by communicating daily tasks (job boards) to meet or exceed the production schedule in a safe manner.

Job boards must be current and accurate daily.

  • Full understanding of production schedules, capacity requirements (headcount), and process flows to ensure proper job execution.
  • Responsible for submitting a detailed weekly production plan for their assigned areas/departments.
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement by identifying and reducing waste in all areas assigned by using Lean Principals. (Cannot manage it if you do not measure it.)
  • Responsible for 5S compliance daily, tool board compliance daily and accurate up-to-date data recording logs if required: (EX: AOT logs, refractory logs, paint logs, roll gun logs, roll maps, roll expander calculation logs, etc.) in their areas.
  • Responsible for conducting weekly 5S audits in their areas of responsibility with a minimum target of 90.
  • Responsible for planning work to keep employees on task by ensuring employees have needed drawings and material to accomplish the tasks assigned on time (planning).
  • Responsible for developing recovery plans when off schedule to get job back on schedule. The plan is reviewed/approved by the Manufacturing Manager and implemented by the Supervisor. 
  • Responsible for employee safety in their respective areas, throughout the facility and environmental awareness.
  • Responsible for quality of work within the job scope in your departments.
  • Responsible for enforcing company policy as outlined in the company handbook. (this includes attendance)
  • Responsible for current and accurate performance metrics posted in your area(s).
  • Interact and cooperate with all fellow team members and other supervisors to achieve our goal of providing equipment that meets or exceeds our customers' expectations and develop a culture of professionalism and world-class manufacturing.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 or more years of directly related heavy industrial or fabrication functions.
  • Excellent communications, problem-solving and negotiation skills. Prior experience dealing with diverse work groups and improving processes.
  • Experience working as a Fitter/Welder in a Code shop; ASME code experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read Blueprints including weld symbols.
  • Thorough understanding of the operation of production systems utilized in lean manufacturing.
