Saw Operator

TMD Staffing is looking to hire Saw Operators in the 77088 Houston area!

Work Environment: Outside, Yard Facility

Job Summary:
The Saw Operator is responsible for safely operating industrial saws to cut metal pipe and related materials to specified measurements. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures to ensure quality production and efficiency within the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate band saws, chop saws, or other cutting equipment to cut pipe according to work orders and specifications.
• Measure and mark materials to ensure accurate cuts.
• Inspect and maintain saw equipment, ensuring blades and machinery are in good working condition.
• Handle and move pipe using forklifts, cranes, or other yard equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and housekeeping standards.
• Perform quality checks on finished cuts to confirm accuracy and adherence to customer requirements.
• Assist with loading and unloading pipe, inventory, and other general yard duties when required.
• Bundle, palletize and clean up all their work once completed

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a saw operator or in a pipe yard/industrial setting preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret measurements, drawings, or cut lists.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor yard conditions.
• Forklift or crane experience is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish & English preferred but not required

Schedule: 2nd Shift (Hours may vary depending on operational needs. Generally needed from 2pm-10:30pm)

Starting Pay: $17-$18 depending on experience. Increase to be given once converted to perm (based on performance)
