Media Instructor

Join Our Team! We are hiring Instructors. We are expanding our team
and are looking for energetic, talented, enthusiastic, dedicated and engaged media professionals to serve as Media Education Instructors facilitating to elementary and middle school students. If you have teaching experience and/or experience in Film, Photography, and Media Arts and are looking to pour into Baltimore City Youth we have part-time and freelance opportunities available.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for facilitating a comprehensive, fun, and interactive curriculum tailored around building student confidence while expanding their knowledge of media educations and skills.
• Provide in-depth demonstration on the uses and techniques of a particular artistic medium and facilitate a productive creative process.
• Guide students through media literacy lessons while fostering an appreciation of creativity through media production.
• Deliver engaging and creative lesson that promote students’ critical literacy, social emotional development, and arts and technology skills.
• Communicate as needed with students’ schools and advisors to support student learning and social emotional development, report attendance, student participation, and credit earning.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of production and post-production equipment used by the program participants.
• Demonstrated commitment to RBMG’s educational philosophy
• Strong planning and personal organization skills
• Flexibility, resourcefulness, patience and a sense of humor

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Media Arts related field; Radio/TV, Digital Media, Broadcasting, etc.and/or related Industry experience required.
• Experience working with school aged youth is a must (specifically from historically marginalized communities)
• Understanding of principles of positive youth development
• Professional in the media industry, which a focus on film and/or television production, ideal candidates are Producers, Assistant Directors, Editors and Line Producers/Production

• Demonstrated experience in a team-based work environment
