Job Summary: Based in New York City and as a direct report to the Chief Strategy Officer, the CPO will be a key member of the executive leadership team focused on building a high performing, One company culture. The CPO will be responsible for the development of the human resource (“HR”) strategy for the company and will lead the HR team in designing, delivering, and implementing programs in talent acquisition, employee engagement and culture, training and development, diversity and inclusion, benefits, compensation, wellness, organizational and performance management, regulatory compliance, succession planning, and organizational design. The CPO will be instrumental in helping fuel growth and develop an environment where the team can thrive. The CPO will be responsible to design and lead strategies to attract, retain and develop top talent for the company. The ideal candidate will be a confident, seasoned leader with extensive experience leading a HR function in a growing and transformative company. The role requires the ability and willingness to complete responsibilities in a proactive and collaborative way, supporting the company’s leadership team and employees. The general responsibilities will include:
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy to support the company’s growth strategy
- Lead HR team in designing and delivering programs that support the HR strategy and the business
- Overall responsibility for creating and managing a culture that will attract, build, motivate, grow, and retain talent
- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team in partnering with business leaders to develop and drive talent outcomes and implement business and people strategies across all areas of HR, including performance management, employee relations, organizational design, career development, employee engagement and retention
- Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team in supporting employees in benefits, compensation, wellness, policies and procedures, and succession planning
- Lead talent acquisition in defining, creating, and executing a communications and employer branding strategy for recruitment and talent acquisition
- Provide leadership and guidance in defining and creating strategies for the organizational goals and helping ensure the company is an equitable and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and can thrive.
- Lead HR diligence, employee engagement, communication, change management and integration related to mergers and acquisitions
- Serve as a mentor to members of the HR team and guide their personal career development
- Identify areas for operational improvement and efficiency within the HR function and lead design and implementation of corrective measures to improve processes, reporting, and policies
- Develop and administer various programs to meet employee needs and drive high levels of employee engagement that foster an environment that encourages open and productive interactions
- Proactively engage with leaders across the organization and build relationships to become a trusted advisor who is sought out to provide guidance before problems arise
- Lead workforce planning, including future working environment, and efforts to support employees in a remote and hybrid working environment
- Communicate and serve as a resource for managers and employees at all levels for HR programs, practices, and processes
- Advise management and employees on interpreting and applying company policies and procedures. Stay current with changes in employment law and emerging trends; work with the Legal team to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure operational excellence and effective HR service delivery
- Proficient at utilizing data and analytics to gain insight on performance and develop metrics, dashboard and digital strategies
- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the firm’s vision and strategic vision
- Develop and maintain HR budgets
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Proven leader with a strong record of HR management experience.
- Visionary with high business acumen and industry experience.
- Experience of driving change in an organization.
- The ability to influence at all levels within an organization.
- Strong strategic skills to enable the development of people strategies within the business.
- The ability to lead and coach at executive level and beyond.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability in stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical and interpretation skills involving complex data, as well as presenting findings at board level.
- Dedication to diversity and ethics within an organization. This includes developing relevant processes and programmed within the business.
- Ability to run successful recruitment exercises and to develop successful staff retention programs.
Annual Base Salary of $265k-$375k, dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. In addition, company offers a comprehensive benefits package. The salary range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
