Job Title: Nighttime Custodian
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:00PM – 6:00AM
Job Summary:
Seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our Facilities Services team as a Nighttime Custodian. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness throughout campus buildings and classrooms during the evening shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors
Refill restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
Secure buildings and classrooms as required
Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisor
Ensure equipment and cleaning supplies are properly used and stored
Perform routine floor care (e.g., buffing, stripping, waxing) as needed
Follow all safety and cleaning protocols in accordance with college policies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Physically able to perform required tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
Ability to pass a background check
Working Conditions:
Primarily indoor work in classrooms, offices, and common areas
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and physical labor
Night shift hours required
