Mechanical Maintenance Tech

TempStaff is currently seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join the team at a leading manufacturing facility in the Jackson, MS area. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and a proven track record in preventative maintenance. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term placement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery, including motors, gearboxes, a variety of CNC machines, and production equipment.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections and services to reduce equipment downtime and extend machine life.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and components to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Replace worn parts, align systems, and ensure equipment is operating within manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Adhere to safety protocols and company maintenance standards including OSHA regulation and Lock-Out/Tag-Out
• Work collaboratively with other maintenance technicians, production staff, and supervisors.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with tools and equipment related to mechanical maintenance (wrenches, bearings, shaft alignments, etc.).
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices and scheduling.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and possible weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work in various industrial environments for extended periods.

Compensation:
