Position Summary
The Commercial Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of assigned construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
Lead project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, and change orders.
Develop and track construction schedules to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
Procure materials and subcontractor services, and negotiate contracts.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
Identify and mitigate project risks; resolve issues that arise during construction.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local construction codes and safety regulations.
Review and approve project invoices, subcontractor payments, and progress billings.
Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting.
Foster positive client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors effectively.
Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 30, PMP, or CCM certification.
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with frequent site visits. May require working outdoors and in active construction zones. Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, with additional hours as project demands require.
