Senior Mechanic

• 3rd shift: 11PM - 7:15AM

• $32 / hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to lead a team of 5–10 mechanics and take ownership of setting up, operating, and troubleshooting a wide range of packaging equipment. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant packaging line operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and configure packaging lines using the appropriate tools and specifications.
• Ensure that all equipment operates within established process parameters.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical problems to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve packaging-related quality concerns.
• Optimize machine performance and reduce product waste.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for machine operations.
• Train line operators on proper equipment use and processes.
• Support the Production Supervisor in maintaining compliance with cGMP, OSHA, and DEA standards.
• Enforce machine and line safety protocols to meet operational safety requirements.
• Oversee and authorize line clearance activities.
• Utilize knowledge of PLC systems and automation in day-to-day troubleshooting.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as inkjet and UV printers, blister packers, bottle fillers, cartoners, and vision systems.
• Recommend improvements to boost line efficiency, including upgrades or modifications to existing equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Job Requirements 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a packaging mechanic or in a comparable role.
• Physically capable of lifting at least 45 lbs.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume packaging environments.
• Must be able to read and write in English fluently.
