Staff Management Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Randolph, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.


Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: 4PM - 12:30AM
  • Plus Overtime


Pay Rate:

  • $30 - $35 / hour 


Job Summary:

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team on the 2nd shift. This is a temp-to-hire role with a well-established manufacturing company. The right candidate will be tasked with diagnosing and repairing a variety of production machinery to support smooth operations and reduce equipment downtime.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance on production equipment such as mixers, conveyors, fillers, labelers, and packaging systems.
  • Identify and resolve issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Replace or repair key components including motors, valves, pumps, belts, and sensors as needed.
  • Maintain safe and efficient machine operation in compliance with SOPs, GMP standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Accurately log all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using a CMMS or written maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and maintain product quality standards.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and line changeovers as needed.
  • Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.


Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional certification from a technical or trade school is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally within cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environments.
  • Solid mechanical skills with proven experience maintaining production machinery.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, basic PLC troubleshooting, and facility utilities.
  • Capable of reading and understanding technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, GMPs, and preventive maintenance principles.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, cGMP).
