Maintenance Mechanic

Staff Management Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Randolph, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 4PM - 12:30AM
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $30 - $35 / hour 

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team on the 2nd shift. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a reputable manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of production equipment to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment including mixers, fillers, labelers, conveyors, and packaging machines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace components such as motors, pumps, valves, belts, and sensors.
• Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely, following SOPs, GMP, and OSHA guidelines.
• Document maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections accurately in a CMMS or manual log.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to support smooth operations.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and line changeovers as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and spare parts inventory.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills and hands-on experience working with manufacturing machinery.
• Foundational understanding of electrical systems, PLC diagnostics, and utility systems maintenance.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and safety compliance standards.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
