Forklift Operator

Staff Management Group is seeking a Forklift Operator for our client in Ledgewood, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: 2PM - 9PM on Mondays - Fridays AND
• 1st Shift: 9AM - 4PM on Saturdays
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $18 / hour 

Job Summary:

Forklift Operators are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a swing reach forklift to pick, pack, and move materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This role often involves picking orders, relocating inventory, assembling crates, and potentially operating other light equipment. Operators must also ensure that materials are handled and stored safely and in accordance with company regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a Swing Reach Forklift to pick, move, and store materials safely within the warehouse.
• Accurately pick and pack orders based on pick tickets or system-generated instructions.
• Relocate inventory to designated storage areas or staging zones.
• Assemble crates or pallets as needed for shipments or storage.
• Inspect equipment before use and report any maintenance needs or safety issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines related to forklift operation and warehouse procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned, including material handling and maintaining clean work areas.

Job Requirements:

• Must have 3 years' experience with a Swing Reach Forklift/Truck
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification prior to starting.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and ability to operate equipment with care in narrow aisles and high racking systems.
• Basic understanding of inventory systems and ability to follow written and digital picking instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
