Summary
To receive and inspect incoming materials insuring accurate inventories for both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
• Count and inspect incoming materials and put away in their designated locations by:
o Take basic measurements for features to verify against Packing Slip and NAV item description.
o Count and/or weigh quantities to verify against packing slip
o Obtain/review material certifications as required by inspection plans.
o Verify material certificates to list of Harger specs
o Record data, scan documents as needed for manufacturing and quality.
o For Enterprise Critical items, notify Quality Inspector for additional inspection requirements.
• Once accepted, receive product into Navision ERP system.
• Load and unload trucks on a daily basis and in a timely manner
• Assist manufacturing in getting materials ready for process cells
• Notify the Quality Department in a timely manner of any discrepancies on incoming products.
• Communicate with supervisor on all issues related to discrepancies on receipts.
• Maintain the outside fenced area. Keeping it cleaned and organized outside
• Coordinate products from Receiving to work cells and from work cells to Shipping
• Assist with bringing in skids for manufacturing and help bring in materials such as pipe, when needed.
• Keep receiving area neat and clean.
• Promptly communicate with different departments via email or verbally to keep them appraised of receivables.
• Communicate with the Manager on all issues related to discrepancies on shipments and receipts.
• Move heavy material as needed and engage a nearby team member to assist with the more heavier materials.
• Ability to safely drive a sit-down propane forklift to move material and load material on and off of pallet racks
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• High School diploma.
• Communication skills, written and oral.
• Organizational skills.
• Experience work in a shipping/receiving environment or related industrial experience.
• Inventory control knowledge.
• Understanding of basic computer functions.
• Basic Math skills.
• Ability to work with little supervision after training.
• Work in a team environment.
• Attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
• Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hand.
• Frequently walks, bends, lifts and carries items.
• Periodically going up and down ladders.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves over 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
• Work performed in a shop environment.
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, and odors.
