Materials Specialist

Materials Specialist - Decatur, MI

1st Shift, Mon-Thurs, $21.25+/Hour Based On Experience

Job Duties:

• The Materials Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of materials within departments of Production
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure that materials are available to meet production requirements.
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist in inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
• Maintain accurate records or material receipts, usage and transfers.
• Coordinate transportation and distribution of materials to various departments.
• Work with logistics partners to optimize on time delivery to production.
• Ensure all parts and materials are available to the assigned production area prior to beginning of schedule.
• Analyze material usage trends and forecast future needs.
• Prepare reports on production activities.
• Update and maintain weekly part shortage reports for all assigned Production areas.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program is required.
• Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of the assigned work.
• Experience working with, and the ability to read measuring devices such as a ruler and measuring tape is required.
• Understanding Manufacturing procedures and practices.
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms.
• Ability to read, comprehend and carry-out instructions in written, oral and diagram form.
• Excellent decision making, and problem-solving.
• Ability to develop and nurture strong, productive relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency, prioritizes well, shows energy, responds to opportunities, instills urgency in others, and meets deadlines.
