Job Title: Accounting Operations Supervisor
Location: Hybrid – Reno, NV / Phoenix, AZ / Spokane, WA / Roseville, CA / Bakersfield, CA / Monterey, CA
Pay: $71k-$118k
About the job:
The Accounting Operations Supervisor oversees premium accounting activities, ensuring timely, accurate payments and effective process management. This role leads a team, manages unclaimed funds/escheatment, and supports system improvement and reporting efforts.
We're looking for someone who:

Has 5+ years of experience in accounting or banking

Holds a degree in Accounting or a related Business field

Understands advanced math and accounting concepts, with working knowledge of insurance and policy data

Has strong leadership skills and experience managing team performance and development

Can identify operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions

Is skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); basic SQL knowledge is a plus

Communicates clearly, listens actively, and prioritizes effectively

Works accurately and is highly detail-oriented
What you'll do:

Supervise premium accounting processes (Direct Bill, Agency Bill, and AR)

Monitor and audit the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of receivables

Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, assigning projects and managing performance

Oversee unclaimed funds/escheatment, including filings, reconciliations, and customer service

Analyze department metrics, trends in bad debt, write-offs, and recommend improvements

Maintain and refine processes and policies for operational efficiency

Participate in system implementations and process automation projects

Provide executive-level reporting and trend analysis

Support department-wide initiatives and take on additional functions as assigned
