Pay: $120k-$160k
About the job:
The Controller oversees all accounting operations, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting for the organization. This strategic role ensures financial accuracy, manages audits and relationships with service providers, and helps drive key financial decisions. You’ll lead budget planning, reinsurance accounting, tax preparation, and internal controls across multiple locations.
We're looking for someone who:

Has a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business

Holds a CPA license

Brings 5+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance

Is fluent in statutory accounting principles, audit procedures, and taxation

Has strong leadership, training, and team development experience

Communicates clearly and confidently across departments and vendors

Is highly analytical and organized, with strong software proficiency (Microsoft Office and database tools)
What you'll do:

Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls

Oversee preparation of financial reports, audits, and regulatory filings

Lead budgeting and cost reporting for the company

Analyze reinsurance agreements and implement accurate reporting practices

Manage external relationships with auditors, reinsurers, banks, and service providers

Handle billing, collection, disbursements, and investment procedures

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations

Oversee tax planning and filing processes

Monitor cash flow and determine timing for long-term investments
