Job Title: Senior Accountant

Pay: $90k-$118k
About the job:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in financial reporting, audits, and maintaining the integrity of accounting systems. This role supports internal and external reporting, ensures accuracy in general ledger management, and contributes to improving financial procedures and controls. You'll collaborate across teams and agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting the broader finance team.
We're looking for someone who:

Has a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or 5+ years of equivalent experience)

Holds a CPA license

Brings 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in insurance, finance, or banking

Understands both statutory and GAAP accounting standards

Has experience with general ledger software like SunGard

Communicates clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders

Can manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities

Is proficient in Excel, Word, and has a basic understanding of network systems
What you'll do:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including fixed assets, investments, and cash

Post daily and month-end journal entries

Support external audits by preparing documentation and demonstrating procedures

Ensure compliance with internal controls and review procedures for operational efficiency

Complete and file regulatory reports, including quarterly/annual statements and tax filings

Communicate financial data and respond to inquiries from auditors, agencies, or team members

Assist in special projects, proposals, or data analysis when needed
