Job Title: Greenhouse and Facilities Assistant
Location: Hollister, CA
Pay: $20-$25/hr
About the job:
The Greenhouse and Facilities Assistant will support farm and greenhouse operations, helping raise, transplant, and maintain healthy plants while assisting with irrigation, pesticide applications, facility upkeep, and seed harvest activities. This role is hands-on, highly physical, and critical to supporting the research and production teams.
We're looking for someone who:

Has a high school diploma

Has at least 2 years of experience working with plants in open field and/or greenhouse settings

Holds a valid California driver’s license and pesticide handling certification (or willingness to obtain)

Is bilingual in Spanish (highly preferred)

Has experience with irrigation repairs, transplanting, and basic farming operations

Communicates effectively and can follow safety and regulatory guidelines
What you'll do:

Support day-to-day greenhouse and field activities: sowing, transplanting, weeding, fertilizing, pesticide applications, and harvesting

Monitor plant growth stages and report plant conditions to breeders and supervisors

Maintain and repair drip irrigation systems and greenhouse equipment

Perform preventive maintenance and support facilities work as needed

Assist with post-harvest activities like seed extraction and seed cleaning

Help maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations

Serve as a backup for facilities operations when required
