Job Title: EHS Specialist
Location: San Jose, CA
Pay: $45-$60/hr
About the job:
Join a global tech leader as an EHS Specialist supporting safety initiatives across local and regional sites. You’ll develop and implement programs that support lab and workplace safety, lead compliance training, and drive proactive safety education campaigns. This role is based onsite in San Jose with occasional travel and reports to the Sr. Manager of EHS.
We're looking for someone who:

Has 5–10 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, preferably in R&D environments

Holds a BS in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

Understands EHS regulations and safety compliance across Federal, State, and local levels

Brings a multidisciplinary background in EHS, industrial hygiene, and emergency response

Is curious, collaborative, inclusive, and agile in the face of change

Communicates well and builds relationships across diverse teams
What you’ll do:

Develop and deliver EHS training (compressed gas, electrical safety, hazardous waste, fire safety, etc.)

Draft and update written EHS programs and procedures to meet regulatory standards

Conduct job hazard analyses and create safe operating procedures

Maintain chemical inventories and update safety data sheet databases
-
Overhaul lab safety signage and site emergency guides
-
Create and manage safety education campaigns for employees
