Simply Great Staffing is seeking a strategic and solutions-driven Applications Manager to support one of our nonprofit clients in the Greater Seattle area. This is a unique opportunity to lead application development and data strategy for an organization that’s making a meaningful impact in the community.
As the Applications Manager, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of software applications—from design and implementation to optimization and support. You’ll collaborate across departments to align technology with mission-driven goals, improve user experience, and ensure data integrity and security.
Key Responsibilities
Application Leadership: Design, develop, and manage software applications that support operations such as visitor engagement, collections management, and internal systems.
Project Management: Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational priorities.
User Enablement: Provide training and support to staff and volunteers, ensuring effective use of applications and prompt resolution of issues.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to assess needs and deliver tailored technology solutions.
Vendor & Contract Oversight: Manage relationships with software vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee third-party integrations.
Data Governance: Ensure application data is secure, accessible, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
Innovation & Optimization: Stay current with tech trends and recommend enhancements to improve system performance and user experience.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field—or equivalent experience.
5+ years in application management, ideally within nonprofit, cultural, or educational institutions.
Proven success leading technology projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
Experience with programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript), databases (SQL, NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of enterprise applications like SQL Server, MySQL, Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft 365.
Familiarity with CRM, ticketing, and registration systems (e.g., NCR Counterpoint, Outbound Software).
Strong understanding of data integration, cybersecurity, and application compliance.
Leadership & Communication:
Skilled in vendor management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable strategies for non-technical audiences.
Analytical mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Preferred Certifications
ITIL v3 (required), ITIL v4 (preferred)
PMP or Agile certification (a plus)
