Location: Tyler, TX

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour (DOE) 

Work Type: Full-time (Direct Hire

Available Shift: Swing Shift | M-F | 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm 

Expected Hours: 40 per week


Job Summary:

Simply Great Staffing is looking for a dedicated and skilled Coffee Production Supervisor to join our client's team. The Coffee Production Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the roasting and packaging operations at our client's manufacturing facility. This role ensures that predetermined quality and safety standards are met, maintains cost efficiencies within the department, and continually improves workflow processes. Effective communication and leadership are key elements of this position, as the Coffee Production Supervisor will work closely with the Production Manager and staff to implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), schedule product runs, and report on key metrics. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will be involved in training new hires, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting safety initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Production Manager and staff to implement/maintain SOPs for all identified activities.
  • Understand and participate in scheduling of product runs. Identify areas for improvement to overall efficiency in the roasting and packaging process.
    • Reporting on key metrics for roasting and packaging lines.
    • Perform new hire trainings (GMP/Safety trainings).
    • Verification of employee training status.
    • Create and foster a positive, cooperative work environment.
    • Support safety by leading kick-off meetings, attending safety meetings, and being a safety advocate. Identify and report any safety issues immediately.
    • Participate in recruiting, training, and retaining high-performing team members in the department.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance individual and team performance.
    • Ensure all sanitation standards are being satisfied, and paperwork is up to date.
    • Escalate machine operation issues as needed to Maintenance and/or Production Manager.
    • Communicate and work with Production Manager and HR on personnel issues, including reviews and employee counseling.
    • Communicate and work with HR on daily time punches and resolve discrepancies.
    • Perform audits and/or verification activities as requested by managers.
    • Participation in Daily Coffee Tasting & Production Meeting.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in industrial, mechanical, engineering, or business administration, or a 4-year technical degree in related discipline; or equivalent education/experience in the manufacturing field.
  • Food/beverage production experience required.
  • Previous experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles preferred.
  • Lift a minimum of 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Operate production equipment in a safe manner.
  • Work in an environment where temperatures may vary.

Schedule:

  • Swing Shift | 2:00 PM CDT – 10:30 PM CDT 
  • Mon-Fri
  • 8-hour shift
  • OT as needed


Experience:

  • Food Manufacturing Company: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Supervisor: 2 years (Preferred)
