PROCESS OPERATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for the operation of the plant, working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure the production of alcohol and distiller's grain by conducting the operation of
systems: cook, fermentation, yeast propagation, distillation, evaporation and drying.
2. Monitor the production process from the control room, take samples and monitor
process equipment and climb stairs and ladders to monitor equipment that is elevated.
3. Conduct start up and shut down of all processing plant systems efficiently and safely.
4. Coordinate and communicate with operators and Shift Lead from the preceding shift
and following shift as to work assignments, relaying all messages and instructions.
5. Maintain and keep accurate records to produce alcohol and distiller's grain.
6. Complete the required cleaning of all plant systems.
7. Communicate any and all problems with equipment to the Shift Lead and assist with the
repair and maintenance of production equipment.
8. Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) and attend all safety training.
9. Conduct regular house-cleaning duties, keeping the entire production area as neat and
clean as possible.
10. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures
and regulations.
11. Identify and communicate workplace hazards to the Shift Lead and correct or seek
assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Lead or Operations Manager.
