Sales Account Manager / Sales Engineer – Custom Industrial Equipment

A growing North American manufacturer of custom engineered industrial and packaging systems is expanding its sales team. This role is ideal for a technically strong, consultative sales professional who works closely with engineers and customers to deliver custom manufacturing solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts while developing new business

  • Respond to inbound project inquiries and proactively pursue new opportunities

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to define custom equipment solutions

  • Support the applications process, including early concepts and technical input

  • Serve as a technical resource to customers throughout the sales process

Requirements

  • Proven experience selling custom engineered industrial or packaging equipment

  • OEM sales experience required

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Comfortable working with engineers, operations, and technical decision-makers

  • Experience in consultative, solution-based sales (not catalog or transactional sales)

Compensation & Work Style

  • Base salary: $70,000–$90,000 plus commission

  • First-year total compensation typically $100,000–$110,000

  • Long-term earning potential of $150,000+

  • Up to 50% travel across North America

  • In-office, collaborative team environment
