Position – Weld Lead    

Job Location – Neenah, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) –  2nd shift

Starting Pay – $20+

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience


As a Weld Lead, you'll be instrumental in guiding our welding team, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and on schedule. You'll be a hands-on leader, setting the pace and demonstrating best practices.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of welders, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Perform high-quality welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) on various metal types and thicknesses according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to guide the team.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and final inspections of welded components to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in scheduling, material allocation, and workflow management within the weld department.
  • Promote and enforce strict safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors, quality control, and engineering to optimize processes and resolve technical challenges.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the welding department.


Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting, with expertise in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding.
  • Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role within a welding or fabrication team is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices.
