POSITION – Powder Coat Technician
JOB LOCATION – Spooner, WI
STARTING DATE – Immediately
EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire
EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time
WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs) OT depends on business needs.
STARTING PAY – $17-18/hour Depending on experience

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred, but not required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting preferred
We are seeking a Powder Coat Technician I responsible for preparing parts for the powder coating process, which includes tasks such as hanging, washing, plugging, scrubbing, taping, and sanding substrates.
Responsibilities

Perform oven and wash bay operations, including routine maintenance tasks

Operate a forklift and carry out basic maintenance duties

Report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, and material concerns to the Supervisor

Pack parts for shipment carefully to prevent damage

Follow all safety protocols and site regulations

Participate in ongoing training for the powder coating application process

Retain job-specific knowledge and apply it consistently

Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or design team

Keep work area and equipment clean, organized, and in compliance with safety procedures
-
Perform quality checks and inspections according to documentation and control plans, including proper recordkeeping

Actively engage in continuous improvement efforts related to safety and quality standards

Adhere to the site's attendance policy

Support other departments or tasks as needed
Qualifications
-
At least 1 year of relevant experience may be accepted in place of a formal degree

Ability to read and understand documents such as safety guidelines, blueprints, memos, and basic instructions

Familiarity with basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
