Position – Passivation Tech

Job Location – Winnebago County

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) –  1st shift

Starting Pay – $20/hr

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience

As a Passivation Technician, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the corrosion resistance of our metal components, primarily stainless steel. Your expertise will directly contribute to the quality and longevity of our products, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform passivation processes on various metal parts, following strict industry specifications (like ASTM A967 and AMS 2700).
• Prepare parts meticulously for treatment, including cleaning, degreasing, and proper fixturing.
• Operate and maintain our passivation tanks and equipment, ensuring optimal chemical concentrations, temperatures, and immersion times.
• Conduct thorough post-passivation inspections, including visual checks, water break tests, and copper sulfate tests, to guarantee effectiveness.
• Accurately document all process parameters and test results.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the passivation process.
• Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Collaborate with our production, quality, and engineering teams to continuously improve our processes.

Qualifications 

• A solid understanding of passivation principles, common industry standards, and various passivation methods.
• Familiarity with safe chemical handling procedures.
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
