Position – Pre Press Technician
Job Location – Appleton, WI
Starting Date – ASAP
Employment Term – Temp to hire
Employment Type – Full time
Work Hours (Shift) – 2nd shift
Starting Pay – $18-$22 per hour
Required Education – High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience
As a Pre-Press Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing digital files for print production, ensuring the highest quality and accuracy. You'll work closely with our design and production teams, using your expertise to troubleshoot potential issues and optimize files for various printing processes.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify incoming client files for completeness and printability.
Perform color corrections, image adjustments, and layout modifications as needed.
Impose artwork for efficient printing and finishing.
Operate and maintain pre-press equipment, including RIP software and plate setters.
Troubleshoot file issues and provide solutions to ensure smooth production.
Collaborate with designers and press operators to achieve optimal print results.
Maintain accurate records of job specifications and file revisions.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new pre-press technologies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Pre-Press Technician or in a similar role within the printing industry.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is a must.
Strong understanding of color theory, CMYK, and spot colors.
Familiarity with various printing processes (e.g., offset, digital, large format).
Experience with pre-press workflow software and RIPs.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
