TIG Welder / Fabricator

Position: TIG Welder/Fabricator I–II

Location: Newport, MN

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Friday, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Wage: $24–$31 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Newport, MN. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on welding and fabrication experience who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and custom work. You’ll be fabricating a variety of stainless steel components for commercial kitchens and food service environments.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed drawings to execute precise fabrication and welding work
• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals; knowledge of MIG, spot, and wire feed welding a plus
• Cut, form, and join metal parts using fabrication equipment and shop tools
• Work independently to build custom products such as counters, cabinets, and breath guards
• Ensure proper fit, alignment, and finish of welded components
• Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Maintain tools and welding equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and teammates to meet project specs and timelines
• Participate in training and cross-training across departments to increase versatility
• Follow all safety policies and company procedures

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Technical degree or certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred
• Experience with TIG welding and stainless steel fabrication required
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and flat layout drawings
• Familiarity with press brake forming, bend allowances, and welding sequences preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a custom manufacturing environment is a plus
