POSITION – Tool & Die Maker

JOB LOCATION – Dresser, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs)

STARTING PAY – $31,000-51,000k/year or more (Depending on Experience)

BENEFITS – Medical, Dental, 401(K), Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, Referral Bonuses

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or equivalent required, One year certificate from college or technical school highly preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. CNC operator experience preferred.

 

 

As a Tool & Die Maker, you will be responsible for schedule processes, fits, assembles, and finishes metal parts to make and repair stamping dies by performing the following duties. Responsibilities

  • Analyzes blueprints, die models, templates, and prototype parts to determine product shape, mechanical structure, and die operation requirements.

  • Calculates dimensions and plans machining, layout, and assembly processes.

  • Develops and coordinates build schedules to meet project deadlines.

  • Sets up and operates machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, radial drills, shapers, and grinders, to machine parts to specifications, ensuring quality and conformance.

  • Verifies dimensions, clearances, and alignment of die components and parts.

  • Assembles mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components into tooling systems as needed.

  • Marks and prepares metal stock for machining by other team members.

  • Accurately captures and reviews information to ensure precision in work, focusing on details and minor elements of materials and processes.

  • Creates innovative solutions by translating concepts into images, modifying designs based on feedback, applying design principles, and demonstrating attention to detail.

  • Ensures accuracy and thoroughness, seeks opportunities to improve and maintain quality, and monitors own work to meet high standards.

  • Evaluates personal strengths and weaknesses, pursues ongoing training and development, works to build knowledge and skills, and shares expertise with colleagues.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 3+ years of related experience in a metal manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to understand and read blueprints, with demonstrated knowledge of production machining processes and operations.

  • Preferred: Previous tooling experience and ability to troubleshoot tool and die issues.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and work with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.

  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Basic computer skills required.
