Position Overview:
Senior Design Engineer with a background in the automation industry, will play a key role in providing technical expertise and support to optimize manufacturing processes and equipment. This role involves working closely with customers, sales teams, and internal engineering departments to design, develop, and implement tailored manufacturing solutions that meet specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to customers and internal teams regarding manufacturing applications, particularly in the packaging or capital equipment industry.
- Analyze customer requirements and processes to recommend and develop customized solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Assist in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it meets all specifications and performance criteria. • Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes through the application of advanced equipment and technologies. o - Collaborate with production teams to implement process improvements that reduce downtime, increase throughput, and maintain quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to equipment performance and process efficiency. • Customer Interaction and
-Work closely with sales teams to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable engineering solutions. o Prepare technical proposals, presentations, and documentation to support sales efforts and communicate the benefits of proposed solutions.
- Provide on-site support and training to customers during the installation and commissioning phases. • Product Development and Customization:
- Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to influence the design of new products and modifications based on customer feedback and industry trends.
- Customize existing equipment and processes to meet specific customer applications, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and regulations. o Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new manufacturing applications and technologies.
- Lead and manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. --- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality, and procurement, to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. •
- 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on packaging or capital equipment.
- Proven experience in process optimization, equipment selection, and technical support in a manufacturing environment. ----------- Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing technologies related to the packaging or capital equipment industry.
