We are currently hiring an Activities Coordinator in Lombard, IL
What will you do as an Activities Coordinator?
- Develop and implement a diverse monthly calendar of events, including educational workshops, holiday celebrations, hobby-based classes, cultural outings, and social gatherings.
- Plan, promote, and facilitate regular on-site activities, off-site trips, and special events.
- Coordinate logistics for all events, including venue setup, catering, transportation, audio/video needs, volunteer support, and supply purchases.
- Collaborate with instructors, performers, speakers, and vendors to provide high-quality programming.
- Design and distribute promotional materials for events, including flyers and posters.
- Inform appropriate coworkers of any social media posts, and newsletter content needed to promote events.
- Track event participation and feedback.
- Maintain detailed records of expenses and adhere to budget guidelines.
- Coordinates, schedules and maintains subscription records.
- Build relationships with community organizations, entertainers, and local businesses to support and enhance event offerings.
- Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants.
- Assist with reception and registration duties during events, including greeting guests and managing attendance.
Who qualifies for the Activities Coordinator position?
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to operate general office equipment (copiers, scanners, phones, etc.).
- Associate’s degree in event planning, communications, recreation, hospitality, gerontology, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative thinking and resourcefulness in planning engaging events.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone and email etiquette.
What hours will the Activities Coordinator work?
- 8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday
- 35 hour work week
- Temp-to-Hire position
How much will you earn as an Activities Coordinator?
- Starting pay is up to $22.50/hour, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
