WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Salem Staffing’s Chicago Staffing Center is looking for a highly professional Mold Prep Operator for a temporary to hire position at our client’s office located in on the Northwest Side of Chicago. SNAPSHOT:

• Title: Mold Prep Operator

• Industry/Dept: Manufacturer

• Location: Northwest Side of Chicago (Zip Code 60634)

• Hours: 2nd Shift (2pm to 10:00pm)

The molding preparation operator cleans, prepares, and provides molds to the molding press lines.

DAY-TO-DAY:

• Operate a propane fork lift truck safely

• Push or pull manual lift trucks and jack trucks

• Be able to:

  • Work with chemicals

  • Use a hoist

  • Set up and change molds on all press lines

    • Use hand mechanical tools safely (e.g., sandblast machine, plastic bead blast machine, etc.)

• Prevent damage or loss to tooling, fixtures, and machinery

• Report mold damage immediately to the supervisor and Process Engineer

• Cooperate and demonstrate professional conduct with coworkers and managers

• Follow supervisor’s instructions and comply with all safety and shop work rules

• Maintain a clean work area

• Meet company standards for quality and productivity by sending clean and appropriately prepared molds to molding production team

• Complete various required paperwork and documentation error free (e.g., mold records)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to fill out required documents and labels in English

• Able to read and understand process documents and work instructions in English

• Strong attention to detail

• Able to multitask

• Must have use of both hands

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to lift 50 pounds, or perform push/pull operations repeatedly on at least 100 pound tools on a regular basis

• Adequate visual skills to perform inspection of molds

• Willing and able to problem solve when something is not working right

• Good work ethic (comes to work and returns from lunch and breaks on time, works hard to reach work standards, tries to minimize waste)

• Team player that gets along well with others (respectful of supervisors and co-workers, helps others by offering assistance and ideas when appropriate)

• Is proactive in identifying potential problems or opportunities to increase productivity and quality, decrease waste and improve morale

• Follows through on tasks and projects as assigned

COMPENSATION:

• Pay Range/Details: $14.00 per hour
