The Salem Group is looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to fulfill a contract role with our client, an enterprise size financial institution, at their operations center in Naperville, Illinois.  This is a great opportunity to work with a small cohesive team.
The duration of this project is 3 months, possibly longer.

Responsibilities include:
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers. 
• Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software. 
• Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. 
• Interacting with the team players on the same team.


Must Have Skills:
• Excel Worksheet knowledge; must be able to manipulate a spreadsheet at an intermediate level.  Ability to use Macros/Pivot Tables/Advanced Formulas would be great as the bank would like to implement some of these into the team in the future.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; must understand debits/credits. 
• Good Communication Skills

• Will work fairly independently in a small, quiet, but great team to work for. 
• Banking experience
• Associate degree or higher

• Learns quickly
• Inquisitive (not afraid to ask questions)
• Accurate
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
