Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s financial systems and processes. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data across general accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and reporting functions. The position also provides financial analysis and assists management in making informed business decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot the accounting system, including report preparation and distribution.
• Perform job and margin analyses, review work-in-progress reports, and generate additional financial reports as requested.
• Prepare cost roll-ups for new parts and oversee physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Conduct account reconciliations, follow up on debit memos and disputes, and process credit adjustments.
• Review pricing and surcharges to ensure proper invoice classification and accuracy.
• Analyze expenses, prepare budget-to-actual comparisons, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Recommend improvements to accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee processes related to the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Manage fixed assets, construction-in-progress, and bank reconciliations.
• Perform revenue recognition and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis for specific projects.
• Complete additional accounting or administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of accounting experience in accounts payable/receivable and general accounting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
