Small Engine Mechanic

RPM Staffing is seeking a skilled Lawn Equipment Mechanic in Sherman, Texas!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of small engines, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, snow blowers, generators, and other power equipment. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoy problem-solving, this is the job for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacement, filter cleaning, and carburetor adjustments.
• Repair or replace damaged or worn parts using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used.
• Keep a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs, costs, and time estimates.
• Stay current on industry best practices and new engine technologies.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; technical training or certification in small engine repair is a plus.
• Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with both gas and electric-powered equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
