Robbins Staffing is seeking a Financial Controller for their well-established successful Charlottesville client company. A great opportunity with growth potential.

 

Job Summary: This role is responsible for facilitating the accounting and financial management needs for CFA services clients and to oversee/review the work of others in the following duties as necessary. This role exists to maintain the financial health and security of the organizations varied assets and businesses.

 

Essential Role:

 

Accounting and finance duties include performing and/or overseeing/reviewing the work of others in the following capacities:

 

  • Execute day-to-day accounting needs for the firm and their related entities by performing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the recording of autopay and client-initiated transactions.

 

  • Complete monthly reconciliations of client and entity checking, credit card, and investment accounts.

 

  • Manage client cash flow and liquidity needs by performing analysis of expected income and expenses. Monitor cash accounts and maintain appropriate cash reserve levels for all variables.

 

  • Oversee quarterly and monthly consolidated reporting.

 

  • Maintain relationships with client bankers and other financial institutions. Initiate fund movement, bank account openings, favorable terms, and the request of information and data as needed in support of the client. 

 

  • Respond to banker requests for financial statements and to meet other loan and account requirements.

 

  • Support client tax accountants by providing tax source documents, accounting reports, and detail schedules, and by responding to inquiries for the accurate and timely filing of client tax returns and payments.

 

  • Develop deep understanding of the organizations private investments and remain current on each one's operational and financial performance.

 

 

Entity management, real estate support, household management, and ongoing services encompass performing and/or overseeing/reviewing the work of others in the following capacities:

 

  • Oversee client risk management by working with client insurance professionals to determine appropriate insurance levels and coverages.

 

  • Update insurance schedules and initiate coverage upon purchase of assets.

 

  • Create, update, and maintain insurance and asset valuation schedules with client ownership review and the engagement of outside appraisers as necessary.

 

  • Review and maintain records of client entity documentation.

 

  • Maintain client entities in good standing by completing regular secretary of state filings, business license filings, and fictitious business name statements and publications.

 

  • Perform household and real estate management duties such as payroll, accounts payable, rent collection, and building maintenance by coordinating directly with client employees, tenants, and service providers.

 

  • Serve as primary point of contact for client with CFO services.

 

  • Communicate frequently with clients via email, phone, and text, as needed.

 

  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

Experience and Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, or equivalent experience.

  • Certifications including CPA, CMA, CFP highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of individual and corporate taxation is preferred.

 

Core Competencies and Skills:

 

  • High-level accounting and finance skills.

  • Experience with Sage Intacct Cloud Accounting software preferred.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

Travel may be required for this position. If required, employee with be provided adequate notice prior to work-related travel.
