SUMMARY: Inspects, tests and adjusts new and reworked tools, parts, dies, gages, jigs and fixtures for conformance to specifications such as dimensions, tolerances and hardness by performing duties. . Physical Requirements: • Senses Sight and hearing required. • Body Motion Full range including bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, stepping up and down, full wrist action. • Weight Lifting requirements are moderate for this job regularly lifting 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Responsibilities: • Implement daily practices, which will contribute to departmental housekeeping. • Perform proficiently in a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office and department specific software. • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor. • Serve as an active member of the team of employees by routinely performing tasks such as: assisting in the training of employees; participating in problem solving activities; reporting workplace safety hazards; suggesting quality improvement methods, etc. • Responsible to ensure conformity to product requirements. • Computes angles, radii, and other unspecified dimensions of workpiece. • Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, and other specifications. • Tests units for fit of moving parts and mechanical functioning. • Tests parts for hardness. • Inspects, adjusts, and verifies accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications. • Examines defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends changes or modifications. • Determines salvageability of defective items. • Measures surface finish of part. • Inspects first run parts and assemblies. • Writes report regarding inspection and testing results. • Inspects parts for flaws or internal fissures with specialized equipment. • Ability to train and demonstrate proper inspection techniques to others. • Inspects cleanliness. Qualifications: • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Read and write English Lines of Authority: • Authority to stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems
