Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Tea Manufacturing Technician / Compounder to join our client’s dynamic tea production team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in industrial manufacturing, batch production, equipment operation, and food safety compliance. This role includes compounding, flavor infusion, packaging support, and regulatory documentation, all within a GMP-compliant, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Compound tea blends by weighing, mixing, and processing raw ingredients such as tea leaves, herbs, botanicals, and flavoring agents according to batch sheets and formulation instructions.
Infuse natural and/or artificial flavors accurately to ensure consistency and quality across batches.
Operate processing equipment (mixers, steepers, kettles, filtration units, dryers, sealers, etc.) and perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
Prepare packaging lines and support packaging operations, including filling, sealing, labeling, and palletizing.
Verify and document lot numbers, weights, and production steps in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, FDA labeling regulations, and internal SOPs throughout all phases of production.
Keep work areas clean and organized to meet food safety and sanitation standards.
Conduct in-process quality checks and report any deviations or irregularities to supervisors.
Assist in the training of new staff on equipment, safety, and production protocols.
Collaborate with QA and production management to support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in food, beverage, nutraceutical, or botanical manufacturing; experience with tea or herbal products is a plus.
Strong working knowledge of cGMP, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
Hands-on experience with production equipment and flavor infusion techniques.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on your feet, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Competent in reading and completing batch records, packaging logs, and traceability documents.
Team player with strong communication and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automated packaging lines or labeling equipment.
Familiarity with organic or kosher certification standards.
Knowledge of botanical extraction or steeping processes.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and correct minor equipment issues.
Forklift certification or ability to operate pallet jacks (a plus).
